Opeyemi is the Executive Director of the Global Support for Kids Initiative (GSK Initiative), a community-based non-profit and non-governmental organization with headquarter in Nigeria. He is a current Board member and International Advisor to the Association for Child and Youth Care Practice (ACYCP), also the Principal Partner/CEO of Hope Diamond Int’l Resources Ltd, a professional package and consulting firm for non-profit organizations and public service generally. ‘Yemi has an academic background in Child Psychology and Social Work. He has professional experience as a social change philanthropist, social entrepreneur, fundraiser, trainer, and organizational development specialist.
Opeyemi has successfully developed and managed projects in the non-profit sector for grassroots organizations from “idea development to evaluation”. He has assisted grassroots organizations in developing countries with their project design and management, often in the area of new programming and proposal writing.
He is an active member of several international and national organizations which include: The Association for Child and Youth Care Practice (ACYCP) USA, International Society on Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) USA, Child Rights Information Network (CRIN) UK, The World’s Children’s Prize for the Rights of The Child (WCPRC) Sweden, and the Nigeria Network of Non –Governmental Organization (NNNGO) to mention a few.
He is a development consultant and researcher to the following organizations: Just for Kids Initiative (JFK), Hope Alliance Initiative (HAI), Youthlife and Teens Development Initiative (YTD) Enhance Pupil Education Initiative and Gender Development Initiative (GenDi). Yemi is an instructor for the Academy’s CYC: Foundations Course.
Opeyemi was the 2014 recipient of the Martha Mattingly Scholarship. His interest includes volunteering, reading, traveling and listening to inspirational music.
