CYC Certification is recognized by the Council on Accreditation. The CYC: Foundations Course is the most widely used curriculum to prepare staff for CYC Certification.

1. Practitioner Training

The Child and Youth Care: Foundations Course introduces practitioners to basic concepts and skills in professional child and youth work. The 36-hour learning experience helps practitioners develop the skills and understanding needed to work in a relationship-based setting.

2. Training of Trainers

The Child & Youth Care: Foundations Course Training of Trainers(TOT) is designed to prepare practitioners to teach the Child & Youth Care: Foundations Course. Students will attend the full Practitioner Training plus an additional 16 hours of TOT Training.

Training will be facilitated by Cindy Carraway-Wilson, Training Director for Youth Catalytics, and Frank Eckles, Executive Director of the Academy.
